About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking an Assembler Team Lead to join the team in North Charleston, South Carolina on 1st shift. The Team Lead will be performing tasks in the following areas: pre-shift planning, crew meetings, team status updates, labor loss, production control, training, process improvement and Lean/BPS (Boeing Production System). The candidate must maintain all necessary certifications to perform the job. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston, SC (BSC). Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status. To be considered for this position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or fabrication
  • 1+ years of experience with 787 program operations
  • 1+ year of experience with Velocity, REDARS, and 787 other systems
  • Maintain all necessary certifications to perform the job.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex tool setup activities (e.g., alignment, leveling).
  • Performs visual inspections on tools using appropriate documentation
  • Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools
  • Build effective resource plans
  • Identifies and communicates risks to First Line Leader
  • Updates and communicates BPS metrics
  • Identify KPI improvement actions
  • Assigns daily work
  • Leads team in daily safety check-in
  • Monitors and reports daily progress to plan
  • Works with support organizations and First Line Leader to mitigate performance risk
  • Documents and communicates shift turnover
  • Establishes overtime requirements and staffing
  • Responsible for monitoring and control of 5S
  • Utilizes Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) and coordinates with Line Side Control Center (LSCC) to address issues
  • Create standardized work instructions
  • Support teammates to improve their job performance, including identifying training
  • Responsible for BPS process improvements
  • Leads Kamishibai audits and Gemba walks
  • Fills open bar lines as needed during other teammates absences
