About The Position

Assembles a variety of merchandise for display and/or sale to customers using common handtools. This role involves assembling items such as bicycles, strollers, furniture, grills, lawn and garden equipment, etc., following manufacturer instructions. The assembled items are prepared for both in-store display and for customers after purchase. The position also includes inspecting finished products, advising customers on use and maintenance, installing optional equipment, performing selling duties, and conducting minor repairs. Maintaining a safe and orderly work area is also a key responsibility, with potential for assisting in backroom, stocking, and receiving functions.

Requirements

• Twelve months experience assembling items such as bicycles, strollers, furniture, grills, lawn and garden equipment, etc.
• Stands, walks, bends, and lifts light to medium weight bulky objects.
• May use a handcart to move stock within/to/from the storage and selling locations.
• Assists customers in loading merchandise into vehicles.
• May be required to supply the tools necessary to perform the duties assigned.

Nice To Haves

• One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for 12 months of experience.

Responsibilities

• Assembles a variety of items such as bicycles, strollers, furniture, grills, lawn and garden equipment, etc. using common handtools following manufacturers instructions.
• Inspects finished products prior to delivery to ensure proper working order and advises customers on proper use and maintenance of equipment.
• Installs optional equipment purchased by customers.
• Performs selling duties such as assisting customers in the selection of merchandise and bicycles and advises on optional equipment available for purchase.
• Performs minor repairs such as clean equipment, adjust brakes/gears, refinish minor scratches, replacing worn or broken parts, etc.
• Maintains work area in a safe and orderly manner.
• May assist in backroom and stocking, receiving functions as necessary.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
