About The Position

Performs repetitive bench or line assembly operations to mass-produce products commonly weighing 50 pounds or less. This position may require overtime to include weekends. The assembler will bolt, clip, screw, cement, or otherwise fasten parts together and perform quality inspection of completed parts. They will also pack completed parts and conduct month-end inventory of completed and in-process parts. The role may require working off shifts as needed and in other areas of either plant based on production requirements. Assemblers will place parts in specified relationship to each other according to work instructions and/or prints, and update work instructions as procedures change. They will receive and give backup support from other assembly or production personnel, rework parts for assembly as required, and work at different workstations as production needs require, maintaining organization of work areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

Responsibilities
