About The Position

MSA Safety in Jacksonville, North Carolina is seeking an energetic individual to join our team as an Assembler II in a manufacturing environment. This position will report the Production Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for the assembly of a limited variety of products or sub-assemblies of small, light to average weight parts following standard procedures. This includes assembly and fitting parts to close tolerances, aligning, fitting, and adjusting parts to meet operating requirements of the unit. You will use hand and/or power tools, and may perform incidental electrical or mechanical connection assembly. You will refer to drawings, diagrams, or blueprints as guides for performing assembly tasks, package finished products, and perform other general assembly and material handling tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write, ability to comprehend and follow work, quality, and safety instructions.
  • Ability to demonstrate adequate dexterity to reach acceptable levels of efficiency.
  • Ability to demonstrate mechanical skills, ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and good disposition to interact and communicate with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow work, quality, and safety instructions.
  • Must have no disciplinary action records for any reason at or above the written warning level within the previous twelve months.
  • High School Diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous MSA experience
