Assembler II 2nd Shift

International PaperCity of Utica, NY

About The Position

This position is for an Assembler II, working the 2nd Shift. The role involves performing responsibilities typically associated with an Assembler I, such as working with minimal supervision, using specification drawings for material setup, identifying and correcting errors, positioning materials according to instructions, recording production, using calibrated tape measures, inspecting completed work, following instructions, completing paperwork, and maintaining a clean work area. The Assembler II also needs to recognize nonconforming materials and discard scrap. Specifically for the Beechgrove Plant, the Assembler II must be able to hand assemble complex cartons using multiple components and fastening applicators like hot glue, PSA, or cold glue, especially "multi-person" cartons requiring simultaneous work. This includes box forming on the Giant Line and Medium Line, and using Kilberg Pneumatic Hand Held Cap Stitchers and Pole Stichers. The role also requires effective rotation within jobs of the same or lower level. Additionally, the Assembler II is responsible for the safe and proper setup and operation of small band saws, small corner cutters, whirlwind chop saws, radial arm saws, and poly tray cutters. An assigned position at the end of Giant Line 1 & 2 and the Medium Line for "Final Inspection" is also part of the role, requiring competence in specific work instructions.
