Assemble, modify and install aircraft structural assemblies, sub-assemblies, and structures on aircraft systems. This role involves preparing work by following work instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, as well as gathering necessary parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. The assembler will put together aircraft subassemblies according to work instructions and engineering documents, with or without the aid of jigs and fixtures. This includes tasks such as drilling, filing, filling, reaming, countersinking, burring, and fastening using various hand tools and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. The position also includes performing repairs and rework for issues that do not require MRB instructions or approval, and under direct supervision, for issues that do require MRB instructions or approval. Self-inspection of work in accordance with Customer Specifications is required, along with shimming, fitting, trimming, and aligning structural assemblies and sub-assemblies using premade shims. Ensuring all assemblies and detail parts are free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and non-conformance issues is critical. The role requires reporting all non-conformances to Team Leads and/or Production Supervisor, following all safety procedures, and reporting unsafe conditions. Additionally, the assembler must report on job status and production restraints, maintain production schedules and goals, keep tools and tooling operational, and maintain a safe and clean work environment. Other duties as assigned by supervision may also be part of the role.
