About The Position

Assembler I - 2nd Shift: Dover Food Retail (DFR) is seeking an Assembler I to join their production team in South Chesterfield, VA. This role is responsible for manufacturing and assembling high-quality Glass, Doors, Frames, and Subcomponents. The scheduled shift is 3pm - 11:30pm, with potential adjustments based on business needs. The Assembler I will work cooperatively within a production team to ensure the creation of quality products.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1 - 2 years of production assembly work
• Basic reading/writing skills
• Good communication skills
• Understanding of 6S
• Ability to read and understand all job specifications
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk and/or sit for long periods of time

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the assembly or production of component parts into completed subassemblies, assemblies or completed units adhering to the assembly traveler/standard work instructions.
• Inspects parts or completed units by using visual inspection, gages, tape measures, check fixtures, calipers, or other inspection equipment.
• Perform end of line product checks and/or repairs.
• Notifies / communicates with assemblers, leads, and supervisors or upstream changes to ensure products are to specification.
• Assist assembly groups with problem solving.
• Makes recommendations for in-line and subsequent checks to increase first pass yield.
