Assembler I - 1st Shift

About The Position

The Assembler I fits, aligns, fastens, and packages sheet metal parts, motors, electronics, and molded parts into subassemblies and complete units. The role includes inspecting assemblies for fit and function, reworking non-conforming units when needed, testing electrical continuity and functionality, and packaging finished units with shipping filler and applicable labels. The assembler follows assembly drawings, process sheets, and standard work to complete operations consistently, safely, and efficiently, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment and participating in workplace organization, meetings, stretching, SQDC discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position may also involve learning to operate and make routine adjustments to various machines.

Requirements

Ability to work from assembly drawings, process sheets, and standard work.
Ability to learn to operate and make routine adjustments to various machines, as needed.
Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime.
Ability to safely lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Fit, align, and fasten sheet metal parts, motors, electronics, and molded parts into subassemblies and complete units.
Visually inspect units for fit and function and disassemble and rework non-conforming products when necessary.
Test units for electrical continuity and functionality.
Package units in corrugated containers with shipping filler and apply all applicable labels.
Follow assembly drawings, process sheets, and standard work to perform assembly operations safely, consistently, and efficiently.
Use required hand and air-powered tools, measuring instruments, and gauges.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Participate in daily workplace organization, meetings, stretching, SQDC discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
