This is an entry-level position preparing fibers for medical surgical products. Assemblers use hand tools and light power tools to process fiber.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent; vocational school graduate preferred.
  • No experience required
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, or schematics.
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, data entry, production software).
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Standing, bending, reaching, and walking for extended periods.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills required for interaction within the group, other departments and customers
  • Results-oriented, with ability to multitask

Responsibilities

  • Aligns and joins parts into housing, modifies, fabricates, and builds equipment and subassemblies using power tools, hand tools, and various soldering equipment.
  • Follows instructions on work order cleaves and tests fiber.
  • Adds RFD tag, measures and aligns fiber for laser.
  • Sends completed fiber to stock location.
  • Records order in production database.
  • Retrieves completed fibers from stock for packaging and labeling.
  • Sends completed fiber to sterilizer then on to Quality Assurance department.
  • Solves minor problems and recognizes bigger problems that require supervisor assistance.
