About The Position

Entry-level assembly position focused on the primary assembly of Wanner Engineering core products. The role involves learning to build a complete pump from raw shaft to total pump, with a strong emphasis on quality, throughput, and continuous improvement. The training process for this role typically takes 6-18 months to achieve proficiency in most core product assembly areas.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated capability to work with computer software including ERP.
  • Demonstrated capacity to interpret 12-digit alpha numeric configuration strings.
  • Mature, energetic, self-starter who is a team player.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to offer ideas for improvement.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to accept change.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use hands and various tools to assemble parts.
  • Commit to procedures mandated by ISO QMS.
  • Maintain professional attitude and demeanor.
  • Treat coworkers with respect and dignity.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in the production area in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in an ISO 9001:2008 environment.
  • Experience with a Material Resource Planning (MRP) system.
  • Experience with Excel or Word.
  • Awareness of 5S, Kaizen, Continuous Improvement efforts, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the assembly team to review daily dispatches and identify daily production goals, accomplishing these goals in a quality-driven environment.
  • Focusing on core products, assemble all components at various stations according to a standard bill of materials, meeting acceptable quality levels and expected volume of throughput.
  • Be willing to learn other areas such as parts washing, material movement, kits, and testing as needed.
