About The Position

Altek Electronics, a contract manufacturer serving various industries since 1972, specializes in PCB layout and design, PCB assembly, and upper-level chassis, control panels, and cable & harness assembly. They utilize LEAN manufacturing and Six Sigma principles and are certified to AS9100D, with operators certified to IPC-610, IPC-620, and J-STD. The company is ITAR compliant and a Veteran-Owned Small Business. This role is for Assembler I, with opportunities for advancement to Assembler II & III after training and certification.

Requirements

• Good eyesight and hand coordination
• Good manual dexterity
• Ability to read & understand assembly prints
• Ability to work in a team environment with moderate supervision
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to obtain and maintain IPC 610 or 620 certification is required.
• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Demonstrates correct understanding of routine aspects of work.
• Up to 2 years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of the Essential Duties & Responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

• IPC 610 or 620 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of routine manufacturing functions in electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies.
• Set-up and calibration of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.
• Manufacturing equipment operation.
• Labeling.
• Loading racks with parts for the Surface Mount technology machine, and returning parts back to stock.
• Prepping or hand placing components.
• Assist with rework on assemblies as a result of testing.
• Assist in resolving routine manufacturing related problems affecting daily operations.
• Perform simple, routine work within area of specialization.
• Select appropriate processes from clearly documented travelers, rules, practices, or instruction.
• Seek advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from Supervisor.
• Responsible for following established safety rules & 6S.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
