About The Position

As an Assembler I, this position works to assemble products by positioning and installing components and subassemblies according to drawings and instructions. Using a variety of hand and power tools, fixtures, work instructions and test equipment that are needed to perform a series of operations to correctly assemble coolers. Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools. Verify specifications by measuring completed cooler components. Assist Team Leader or Manager with training new employees. This position is in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
  • 1 year of professional experience related to manufacturing preferred
  • Basic math skills including the ability to read a tape measure and calipers required
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints preferred.
  • Experience using industrial machines preferred.
  • Forklift operation certification preferred.
  • Overhead crane experience preferred
  • Demonstrates proficiency in one or more of the following equipment: radial drills, fin tube machinery, large vertical band saw, presses, breaks and shears.
  • Regularly exert up to 50 lbs of force occasionally: 30 lbs of force frequently
  • Stands or walks 80% of workday.
  • Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
  • Lifting raw materials, assemblies, and equipment using lifts, or manually up to 50 lbs
  • Individuals will be climbing ladders, bending squatting and using many mechanic type of tools.
  • Mobility & Posture: Standing, walking, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and balancing on varied surfaces
  • Manual Dexterity: Reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects using upper body strength
  • Fine Motor Skills: Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers for precision tasks
  • Communication: Clear verbal expressions and active listening to convey and receive detailed instructions
  • Sensory Abilities: Adequate hearing to distinguish sounds and spoken communication in a work environment
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment: steel toe boots, safety glasses, and ear plugs
  • Exposure to outdoor weather, extreme heat or cold, loud noise, and vibration
  • Work near hazards: moving machinery, vehicles, electrical currents, and chemicals
  • Encounter atmospheric conditions: fumes, dust, gases, odors, and poor ventilation
  • Operate in confined spaces such as narrow aisles or passageway
  • The noise level in the work environment is often loud.
  • Communicate effectively through speech and hearing.

Responsibilities

  • Positions parts and subassemblies by reading blueprints and instructions.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit.
  • Operates hand and power tools to connect parts.
  • Performs tube installation and rolling operations.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions with Team Lead, Supervisor and/ or Team Manager approval.
  • Provides needed material(s) to various workstations and/or locations.
  • Loads and unloads trucks, units and parts.
  • Reads blueprints or instructions for job specifications.
  • Operates cut saws, drill presses, and punch press, as needed to fabricate parts and subassemblies.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Use precision measuring devices to check quality of work.
  • Safely rigs structure and material for movement by overhead crane.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work area both during and at the end of each work shift.
