About The Position

Altek Electronics, a trusted source of electronic manufacturing services since 1972, is a comprehensive contract manufacturer serving a broad range of industries. This position is on our 1st shift - Mon - Fri 6:48 am - 3:18 pm, overtime may be available or required during busy periods. The pay range posted for this position is for Assembler I and most new hires. Pay Ranges for Assembler II & Assembler III are higher, after completing in-house training and obtaining specified IPC Certifications.

Requirements

  • Good eyesight and hand coordination
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Ability to read & understand assembly prints
  • Ability to work in a team environment with moderate supervision
  • Good attention to detail
  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrates correct understanding of routine aspects of work.
  • Typically, up to 2 years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of the Essential Duties & Responsibilities as presented above.
  • Applicants must be aware of ITAR restricted hiring practices and are encouraged to consult the latest ITAR regulations regarding restrictions that may apply.

Nice To Haves

  • IPC 610 or 620 certification is a plus.
  • And/or ability to obtain and maintain such certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of routine manufacturing functions in one or more of the following areas: Electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies
  • Set-up and calibration of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies
  • Manufacturing equipment operation
  • Labeling
  • Loading racks with parts for the Surface Mount technology machine, and returning parts back to stock
  • Prepping or hand placing components
  • May assist with rework on assemblies as a result of testing
  • Assists in resolving routine manufacturing related problems affecting daily operations.
  • Performs simple, routine work within area of specialization.
  • Selects appropriate processes from clearly documented travelers, rules, practices, or instruction.
  • Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from Supervisor.
  • Responsible for following established safety rules & 6S.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
