About The Position

This role involves positioning parts and subassemblies by reading blueprints and instructions, assembling components by examining connections for correct fit, and operating hand and power tools to connect parts. The position also includes performing tube installation and rolling operations, keeping equipment operational through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting, and providing necessary materials to workstations. Responsibilities also extend to loading and unloading trucks, operating cut saws, drill presses, and punch presses for fabrication, and using precision measuring devices to check work quality. Safely rigging structures and materials for movement by overhead crane, maintaining a clean work area, and adhering to all safety policies and procedures are also key aspects of this role. Employees are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism, courtesy, and cooperation, and to comply with all Alfa Laval policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Basic math skills including the ability to read a tape measure and calipers required
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills are required to ensure safe and effective performance of job duties.
  • Ability to understand and follow blueprints, safety instructions, hazard communications, and emergency procedures with clarity and confidence.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of professional experience related to manufacturing preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints preferred.
  • Experience using industrial machines preferred.
  • Forklift operation certification preferred.
  • Overhead crane experience preferred
  • Demonstrates proficiency in one or more of the following equipment: radial drills, fin tube machinery, large vertical band saw, presses, breaks and shears.

Responsibilities

  • Positions parts and subassemblies by reading blueprints and instructions.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit.
  • Operates hand and power tools to connect parts.
  • Performs tube installation and rolling operations.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements and following manufacturer's instructions.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions with Team Lead, Supervisor and/or Team Manager approval.
  • Provides needed material(s) to various workstations and/or locations.
  • Loads and unloads trucks, units and parts.
  • Reads blueprints or instructions for job specifications.
  • Operates cut saws, drill presses, and punch press, as needed to fabricate parts and subassemblies.
  • Uses precision measuring devices to check quality of work.
  • Safely rigs structure and material for movement by overhead crane.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work area both during and at the end of each work shift.
  • Prioritizes safety, including strict adherence to company-wide safety policies and procedures, proactive promotion of safe practices, and addressing unsafe behaviors or conditions.
  • Conducts themselves with professionalism, courtesy, and cooperation toward colleagues, customers, vendors, and visitors.
  • Ensures full compliance with all Alfa Laval policies and procedures.
