About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking an Assembler I (2nd shift) - Packing at their Reno, NV facility. The core hours for this position are 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. This role involves performing simple repetitive bench assembly of parts and components, using bolts, screws, clips, and other fastening devices. The assembler will work under close supervision and may use models, samples, or simple diagrams. Additionally, the role includes picking, packing, and pulling orders efficiently and accurately, troubleshooting problems, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. The position also supports facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives, including maintaining 5-S principles and visual management tools, and participating in Kaizen improvements.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand on feet continuously during working shift with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance and occasionally lift more than 35 lbs. with assistance with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Exposure to high noise level (ear protection may be required in some areas).
  • Exposure to high traffic areas with forklift activity.
  • Exposure to oils, lubricants, and solvents.
  • Fine manipulation of hands with repetitive motion.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform simple repetitive bench assembly of parts and components.
  • Use bolts, screws, clips, and other fastening devices.
  • Work under close supervision and may work from models, samples, or simple diagrams.
  • Pick, pack, and pull orders in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.
  • Maintain work areas clean and safe.
  • Support all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to: Maintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas.
  • Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor.
  • Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility.
  • Other various duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
