About The Position

Unifin International, a Wabtec Company in London, Ontario, is seeking an individual for an Assembler role within the Assembly Department. This role is designed for someone who is highly motivated, willing to learn, and aims to become an experienced assembler, potentially moving into a senior role and future leadership position. The position involves working in a fast-paced manufacturing assembly environment, collaborating with team members, and reporting to the Production Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Able to work as an individual or with other departments to meet customer demands and expectations.
  • Overhead crane material handling experience.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Dedicated worker who wants to reach their full potential.
  • Minimum 5 years as a highly experienced forklift operator with proven safety record.
  • Experience unloading and loading flat beds.
  • Able to lift 50lbs.
  • Possess hand and eye coordination to assemble various fasteners.
  • Detailed oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with 2 – 4 team members on the assembly line.
  • Understand and execute direction from supervisor to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Operate overhead and jib cranes safely.
  • Be responsible for your own safety, while ensuring you are keeping your team safe as well.
  • Use various wrenches, impact gun, grinders, measuring tape, ply bars, hammers, and various other manufacturing tools.
  • Plan your time to efficiently assemble product with speed and accuracy.
  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures to correctly assemble components and products.
  • Interpret drawings and other written instructions to accurately assemble products.
  • Inspect components and assemblies for defects and ensure that all assembled products meet the required specifications and quality standards.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards to promote a safe working environment.
  • Record production and operational data accurately and maintain logs of product assembly.
  • Load or unload trucks using a forklift, when required.
  • Move material to other departments, when required.

  • After probation – full rate - $34.70
