The Electro-mechanical Assembler performs electronic and mechanical assembly, software installation, and testing for Econolite’s traffic controller products. The successful candidate must have experience with assembling electrical components and comfortable working with, but not limited to, electronics parts, electrical wires, sheet metals and manual/power tools. Candidate must be detailed oriented, quality minded and follows strict manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly and testing required.
  • Knowledge of ESD (electrostatic discharge) best practices required.
  • Dexterity with hand tools, power tools, and other electronic assembly tools.
  • Proficiency in following written procedures and work instructions.
  • Work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Computer skills.
  • Available to work overtime, sometimes on short notice.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training and IPC 620 certification preferred.
  • Experience with environmental test chambers is preferred.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and production demands.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electro-mechanical assemblies for traffic controllers, circuit boards and other electronic products.
  • Perform software installation and diagnostics from computer to controller.
  • Perform bench Testing and (ESS) environmental stress screening of product using test computers.
  • Report any failures or issues encountered.
  • Use of ShopVue productivity monitoring system.
  • Print labels for traffic controllers and other electronic products.
  • Perform packaging and product verification for traffic controllers and other electronic products.
  • Perform inspection of product, electronic and mechanical parts.
  • Keeps a clean, organized work area in line with 5S and safety standards.
