About The Position

This position reports to the Supervisor of the Assembly department. The Assembler - Computing role involves reading work orders, following drawings and work instructions, and assembling manufactured products according to blueprints, work orders, verbal instructions, or work instructions. The role requires executing assembly builds in a timely manner as defined by the production schedule, working at a bench or on the shop floor to assemble vehicle accessories, and collecting parts from inventory as needed. The assembler will receive verbal instruction on the priority of orders and set up daily work according to the production schedule or verbal instructions. They will use hand tools including torque-controlled electric drills, wrenches, torque wrenches, and auto screw feeders. The role also involves working at different workstations and cross-training to support other assembly departments as required. Additionally, the assembler will group and package finished products with a packing list for the shipping department, package parts together according to production schedule or verbal instructions, and operate various packaging equipment including a paper machine, hand sealer, bubble machine, tape machine, and tape gun. Labeling finished products and completing paperwork are also key duties. The position requires maintaining a clean work area, participating in facility maintenance, adhering to all safety and ESD protection standards, and performing testing on a variety of custom electronic products. Participation in product assembly training sessions, team activities, and the continuous improvement process is expected. The assembler will utilize quality assurance tools such as the Vision System, Inspection Tracker, and Quality Tracker to ensure product standards are met and maintained, and support the company's vision, mission, strategy, and values.

Requirements

Must have High School Diploma or equivalent, technical certification a plus
Mechanically inclined with experience using basic hand tools
Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
Ability to read and interpret work instructions, and engineering drawings
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations & computer applications
Must possess a strong attention to detail
Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing
Must be able to perform activities that include bending, stretching and climbing
Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
Visual requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus
General knowledge of workplace safety & ESD controls, a plus
General knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as ISO9001
