About The Position

This role involves assembling components for all Product Lines, testing assembled products, and troubleshooting issues. The assembler will read blueprints, identify components, use hand tools, and perform rework. They will operate equipment, set tolerances for mechanical parts and assemblies, and create labor records. The position also involves setting up new production work areas, assisting with the transition from development to production, and manufacturing/assembling/testing measurement equipment. A key part of the role is performing precision seam welding while seated for extended periods. The assembler will interface with production leads, supervisors, and QA inspection to ensure timely delivery, troubleshoot discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. They will also set up and operate precision calibrated tools, identify and implement continuous improvement projects, and perform routine maintenance to support 6S and Lean initiatives.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED.
3-5 years direct experience in industrial manufacturing, integration, or other relevant field.
Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment.
Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
Basic mathematics skills such as calculating spring rates.
Hand dexterity required to assemble small mechanical or electrical components.
Basic computer skills such as Windows and Microsoft Office.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work off-shift, extended hours, overtime, and weekends if necessary.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
Ability to work in small restricted areas.
Ability to perform repetitive work including lifting of heavy items up to 44 lbs.
Ability to perform precision seam welding work for long periods of time seated at machine.

Nice To Haves

Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field.
Experienced in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment.
Experience with resistance seam welding, precision TIG welding, and spot welding machines.
Experience reading WPS (weld procedure specification) and PQR (performance qualification record).
Experience with helium leak verification of welds.

Responsibilities

Assemble components of all Product Lines using correct tools and fixtures.
Test assembled products and troubleshoot problems associated with assembly and testing.
Read blueprints, identify components, and use hand tools and rework techniques.
Operate equipment, dimensioning and setting tolerances of mechanical parts and assemblies.
Create labor records for all transactions.
Use manufacturing system principles to drive continuous improvement.
Setup new production work areas, including layouts, tooling, and equipment setup.
Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles.
Manufacture, assemble, and test mechanical, fluid, and electrical measurement equipment assemblies.
Perform precision seam welding work for long periods of time seated at machine.
Interface with production leads, supervisors, and QA inspection to ensure timely delivery.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct discrepancies by modification, rework, repair, or maintenance.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control.
Setup and operate precision calibrated tools including weld controllers and gauges.
Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 6S and Lean initiatives.
