About The Position

This is a highly skilled position involving control and operation of an Asphalt Shuttlebuggy. APAC-AL, Inc., part of CRH’s South Central Division, is a leading supplier of quality asphalt and Construction Services in the Southeastern U.S., with operations in Alabama. Working with government agencies, private contractors, counties and municipalities, we produce millions of tons of quality construction materials and pave many miles of highways every year. Our highly skilled workforce strives to deliver the highest quality products and services in a safe, timely and efficient manner, on every project.

Requirements

• Must have at least one year experience operating an Asphalt Shuttlebuggy
• Possess a solid understanding of the paving industry and other details related to asphalt paving.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

• Operates Asphalt Shuttlebuggy machine safely and efficiently.
• May perform other related duties, such as adding accessories associated with the machine, cleaning of machine.
• The operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance.
• May perform other related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, adding or removing screed extensions.
• Must keep time and material records as needed.
