Asphalt Plant Operator
About The Position
Banks Construction Company is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Asphalt Plant Operator to join their asphalt plant operations. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced setting, can maintain focus, and are interested in the production aspect of heavy civil construction. The operator will learn to manage the asphalt plant from the control tower, handle truck loading and scaling, interact with crews and customers, and ensure safe and efficient plant production. Banks Construction has three plant locations in North Charleston, Summerville, and Walterboro, operating around the clock to meet project and customer demands.
Requirements

- Comfortable learning plant controls, truck loading, and production processes.
- Comfortable working around asphalt plants, trucks, materials, equipment, noise, dust, and other safety-sensitive conditions.
- Flexible and available to work day or night shifts as needed.
- Willing to work at plant locations in North Charleston, Summerville, and Walterboro as needed.
- Takes safety seriously.
- Dependable and shows up on time.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to learn and grow in asphalt production and heavy civil construction.

Responsibilities
- Operate the plant from the control tower while supporting daily production, truck loading, customer needs, and overall plant operations.
- Learn all areas of the asphalt plant facility and plant operations.
- Operate the asphalt plant for different jobs throughout the Lowcountry.
- Load and scale trucks with asphalt and other materials.
- Monitor plant controls, production needs, and material flow.
- Communicate with plant team members, paving crews, drivers, and customers.
- Help private customers receive their asphalt on time.
- Track production and job information accurately.
- Stay focused in a fast-paced production environment.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
- Help troubleshoot plant needs and communicate issues quickly.
- Support general plant facility tasks as needed.
