About The Position

O’Hanlon Paving, a proud member of The Fath Group of Companies, has been a key player in the Edmonton, road construction industry for over 65 years. We are currently looking for an experienced and safety conscious Asphalt Plant Grounds Person, to work seasonally in a full-time capacity at our Acheson, Alberta plant. The successful candidate must be able to align with the company's core values: Commitment, Attitude and Respect.

Requirements

• Some experience with small construction equipment such as bobcats, skid steers, loaders will be required
• Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license
• Minimum High School education or equivalent
• Ability to work continuously for prolonged periods of time under pressure
• High attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to follow directions
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions
• Ability to use smart phones and testing features
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Willingness and ability to work extended hours and weekends

Nice To Haves

• Some experience working in a construction company as a labourer will be an asset

Responsibilities

• Assist co-workers with operating equipment as well as some plant work
• Operating equipment in a safe manner following transportation driving laws
• Cleaning of all scales, garbage, housekeeping around fuel tanks (willing to use a shovel)
• Ensuring all signage is intact around the plant/yard
• When required, assist with directing traffic, greasing and washing of equipment & trucks and maintenance on various plants in yard i.e., KMA, asphalt and cement
