About The Position
Silver Star Construction, a local road construction company, is seeking an Asphalt Plant Groundman to perform ground operations, such as greasing equipment, general laboring, equipment operation, and routine maintenance in and around the asphalt plant.
Requirements
- Good driving record
- Must pass the background check, drug screen/physical
- Willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
- Able to work nights and weekends when necessary
- Able to work overtime when required
- Able to perform manual tasks in a safe manner, such as shoveling, sweeping, and jackhammer operation
- Adhere to safety requirements and procedures
- Communication skills
- Time-management skills
- Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly
Responsibilities
- Maintenance and repairs
- Operate heavy equipment such as bob cat, skid steer, man lift, water truck, and haul truck
- Pre and post inspections with proper documentation
- Perform upkeep of the plant (trash/debris clean up)
