About The Position

Rogers Group seeks motivated, punctual, and safety-focused Asphalt Paving Equipment Operators with previous paving experience for our Virginia SMA operations in Staunton, VA. The company will also consider providing training for the right candidate with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1-2 years of asphalt paving experience is preferred.
• Experience working with road construction in high traffic areas including some experience with MUTCD traffic control.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move heavy objects.
• Ability to work outdoors which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
• Valid Drivers License required.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
• Familiarity and experience in operating equipment for asphalt paving, such as: Rake/Lute/Shovel, Skid Steer, Backhoe, Broom, Asphalt Roller, Asphalt Screws/Screed, Paver, Asphalt Distributor/Tack Truck (CDL required), Water Truck (CDL required).

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road, site or highway construction and paving.
• Ability to properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the Supervisor.
• Perform daily pre–and–post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Follow directions from Supervisor as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or job.
• Perform general labor duties when necessary, and other duties as assigned.
