About The Position

Straight Edge Contractors LLC is looking for experienced and dependable individuals to join our Asphalt Paving Crew. We have several positions available including Asphalt Rakers, Asphalt Shovelers/Laborers, Asphalt Roller Operators, and Asphalt Paver Operators. These roles involve working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physically demanding tasks as part of a cohesive paving crew.

Requirements

• Previous asphalt paving experience preferred.
• Dependable and able to report to work on time.
• Able to work outdoors in hot weather.
• Able to follow Foreman/Superintendent instructions.
• Must follow all company and job-site safety requirements.
• Must work well as part of a paving crew.
• Equipment operators must demonstrate their ability to safely operate assigned equipment.

Responsibilities

• Raking and leveling hot mix asphalt, working around edges, joints, and transitions, and understanding proper grade and asphalt placement.
• Shoveling and spreading hot mix asphalt, assisting with paving preparation and cleanup, and performing physically demanding outdoor work.
• Operating asphalt rollers, understanding proper compaction procedures and rolling patterns, and working safely around paving crews and equipment.
• Operating asphalt paving machines, maintaining proper speed, grade, and asphalt placement, and working with paving crews to produce a quality finished surface.
