About The Position

Baldwin Paving Company, Inc. is seeking a Groundsman to join their team. This is a full-time position based primarily out of their Newnan, GA asphalt plant. The role reports to the Plant Manager. While the position has a designated home plant, employees may be assigned to support other company asphalt plants within the Greater Atlanta area on an as-needed basis. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, which may include day or night shifts, long hours, and weekend work as business needs require. Employees must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to assigned work locations when needed. The company is looking for a practical, dependable, and safety-focused team member who can assist with the daily operations and upkeep of the plant, perform maintenance and equipment operation tasks, and help ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Requirements

Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual.
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA and company policy.
Must have reliable transportation.
Ability to travel to assigned work locations when needed.
Flexibility in scheduling is required.
Ability to access all areas of the plant to perform necessary maintenance and repairs.
Ability to operate a front-end loader safely and efficiently.
Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly.
Ability to follow directions.

Responsibilities

Assist the plant foreperson with the daily operations and upkeep of the plant.
Ability to access all areas of the plant to perform necessary maintenance and repairs.
Perform welding and fabrication duties as required.
Ability to operate a front-end loader safely and efficiently to move materials such as aggregate, sand, and recycled asphalt within the plant yard or job site.
Conduct pre-operation inspections, report mechanical issues, and follow all safety protocols and site procedures.
Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly.
Ability to follow directions.
Maintain excellent housekeeping around the plant by shoveling.
Perform repairs as needed to plant equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance to keep the plant running.
