About The Position

This role is part of Alcon's Manufacturing function, a team that designs, produces and delivers innovative eyecare products to more than 140 countries through operational excellence and efficiency. The ASPEX Compounder Lead is primarily responsible for applying technical expertise to process ingredients and pharmaceutical products or produce contact lenses. You will maintain equipment, follow standard procedures, and engage in process improvements, requiring advanced technical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • 3 Years of Relevant Experience

  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Previous experience in the Compounding department.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential through cross-training, project leadership, mentoring, or acting lead responsibilities.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to support departmental goals and objectives.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration skills and a track record of partnering with other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Proven strategic problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Hands-on experience with LabVantage, PieVision, Cognos, TrackWise, and Maximo in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical knowledge to perform tasks and support project goals effectively.
  • Follow established procedures with decision-making authority.
  • Process ingredients and pharmaceutical products or produce contact lenses, including working with saline solutions and mixing compound ingredients for various products such as liquid products, suspensions, ointments, mixes, or blends for tablet granulations and capsule powders.
  • Ensure high-quality and efficient task completion impacting project performance and operational efficiency.
  • Stay current with field advances and take an agile approach to problem-solving by testing, iterating, and refining solutions.
  • Perform maintenance on pumps, homogenizers, filter presses, and tablet compression machines.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain required records, ensuring compliance with GxP regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in projects to develop process improvement methods, solutions, and procedures to enhance program quality, cost, and scheduling.
  • Monitor and verify quality using statistical process or control procedures.
  • Take on highly complex tasks and make critical decisions influencing project outcomes.
  • Meet individual job requirements and contribute to the overall compliance of the organization, committing to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
  • All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training.
