About The Position

The ASOT Intermediate/Sustainment (I/S) Instructor serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering advanced individual and collective training that sustains and enhances Special Operations capabilities. The instructor develops and delivers classroom instruction, facilitates practical exercises, evaluates unit performance, and incorporates current operational lessons learned to ensure training remains aligned with evolving mission requirements and USSOCOM doctrine.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
  • Graduate of the Advanced Special Operations Techniques Course (ASOTC).
  • Demonstrated experience conducting Advanced Special Operations Techniques (ASOT) Intermediate/Sustainment (I/S) training for operational units within the past twelve (12) months.
  • Proven experience planning, coordinating, and executing sustainment training supporting Special Operations Forces readiness.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience managing or supervising a contract, training program, or mission of similar size, scope, and complexity supporting military or Special Operations training.
  • Thorough knowledge of Special Operations tactics, techniques, procedures, and current USSOCOM doctrine.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively instruct, mentor, and evaluate personnel.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous instructor experience supporting the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School (USAJFKSWCS), U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC), or other USSOCOM organizations.
  • Experience developing military curriculum, Programs of Instruction (POIs), lesson plans, and training support packages.
  • Experience conducting operational assessments and After-Action Reviews for Special Operations units.
  • Ten (10) or more years of Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience.
  • Previous experience mentoring military, civilian, or contractor instructors.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver classroom instruction and facilitate practical exercises in accordance with approved Programs of Instruction (POIs), Government objectives, and applicable training standards.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute Advanced Special Operations Techniques (ASOT) Intermediate and Sustainment training events.
  • Evaluate individual and unit performance during classroom instruction, practical exercises, and field training events.
  • Provide professional coaching, mentoring, and developmental feedback to students and operational units.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain lesson plans, training support packages, instructor guides, practical exercises, and other instructional materials.
  • Integrate current operational lessons learned, emerging threats, and validated tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) into training curricula.
  • Conduct After Action Reviews (AARs) and provide recommendations to improve operational performance and training effectiveness.
  • Coordinate training requirements with Government leadership, unit representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure mission success.
  • Support the qualification, mentorship, and development of military, civilian, and contractor instructors.
  • Maintain subject matter expertise through continuous professional development and participation in training updates between instructional cycles.
  • Ensure accountability and proper handling of Government-furnished equipment, training aids, and classified materials.
  • Support temporary duty (TDY) travel as required to meet mission and training objectives.
