About The Position

The ASL Tutors tutor students at all levels of ASL language study, but work primarily with first and second-year language students in classes (TA) and individual sessions.

Requirements

  • Must be a current CSS student.
  • Very high proficiency in ASL is required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills required.
  • Job functions require sitting during shift.
  • Professional presence to represent the College to the public required.
  • Ability to perform all of the above functions during an assigned workday without significant risk of injury.
  • Good attendance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct one-on-one tutor sessions first and second year ASL students.
  • Basic record keeping of oral assignments.
  • Offer walk-in or Zoom-based tutoring service during posted hours.
  • Proctoring exams.
  • Work directly with ASL Program Director in classes and office hours.
  • Maintaining and posting available hours.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Other duties as necessary or assigned.
