About The Position
Club Xcite is seeking qualified American Sign Language (ASL) / Sign Language Interpreters for a full-time, itinerant role in a K-12 school setting. The interpreter will facilitate communication for students, ensuring their access to classroom instruction, school activities, and assessments throughout the day. This role involves collaboration with teachers, service providers, and school staff to create an effective communication environment and promote meaningful access to education.
Requirements
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Reliable and able to work independently in an itinerant role.
- 3.0 or higher on CA state assessment score (EIPA, ESSE, NAD/ACCI).
Nice To Haves
- Experience in K–12 educational interpreting.
- Knowledge of IEPs and educational terminology.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and peers through ASL.
- Support students’ access to classroom lessons, school activities, and assessments.
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administrators to enhance learning.
- Travel between schools across the district as assigned.
