ASL Interpreter (Pre-Certified), Remote / VRI — Shreveport, LA
About The Position
CLF Consultants LLC (CLFC Healthcare & Communications) is seeking pre-certified ASL interpreters for its nationwide Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) pool. This role supports the New York State Education Department, Office of Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR). Interpreters will provide ASL interpreting services to ACCES-VR consumers and staff via a secure video platform. The position is fully remote and can be performed from anywhere in the United States with a reliable internet connection. Full RID certification is not a prerequisite, as CLFC offers an internal assessment pathway for pre-certified and emerging interpreters to gain paid experience and professional development towards national certification, with support from CLFC's certified leads.
Requirements
- Pre-certified or emerging ASL interpreting skills (e.g., interpreter training program graduate, EIPA, state screening, RID knowledge-exam passer, or comparable)
- Fluency in American Sign Language and spoken English
- A private, professional remote setup: reliable high-speed internet, a webcam, and a quiet, confidential space
- Reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to consumer-centered communication access
Responsibilities
- Provide ASL interpreting for ACCES-VR consumers and staff through secure video remote interpreting (VRI)
- Interpret vocational rehabilitation, career, and continuing-education interactions accurately and professionally
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to the RID Code of Professional Conduct
- Coordinate and confirm assignments through CLFC's scheduling platform
