About The Position

The Cloud-Scale Machine Learning Acceleration team is seeking an ASIC Design Engineer to contribute to the design and optimization of hardware for AWS Machine Learning servers. This role involves working with custom chips and accelerators, such as AWS Inferentia, to handle massive scale and integrate emergent technologies. The team is dedicated to supporting new members with a mix of experience levels, fostering knowledge-sharing and mentorship. Senior members provide one-on-one mentoring and code reviews, and projects are assigned to support career growth and develop engineering expertise.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant field experience.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimization of hardware in AWS data centers, including custom machine learning inference datacenter servers like AWS Inferentia.
• Trail-blazing new technologies and architectures.
• Ensuring high design quality and making appropriate trade-offs.
