About The Position

The Student Government Student Coordinator is responsible for creating and implementing opportunities for the Board of Directors to engage with the campus community. This includes planning events and initiatives determined by the ASI Executives and/or the Board of Directors. The position coordinates provides guidance to Student Government Leadership Council (SGLC). In addition, this role develops engaging, brand-aligned content for ASI Student Government’s social media platforms. This position reports to the ASI Student Government Assistant.

  • Currently enrolled, matriculating CSU Stanislaus student with a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
  • Must be available Tuesdays from 11am-1pm and 3:00pm-6:00pm.
  • Must be available Wednesdays from 10am-1pm.
  • Work an average of 15 – 20 hours per week.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid CA Driver’s License, maintain appropriate auto insurance and have access to a vehicle that is in safe mechanical condition.
  • Not permitted to run for ASI Elections, as this position supports and helps oversee the Elections process.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, market, implement, and evaluate a wide variety of ASI Student Government related events such as ASI Serves You, Get Social series and Student Government Town Halls.
  • Collect data and provide information on all implemented events and programs for programming assessments.
  • Maintain the ASI student government programming budget and expenditures.
  • Prepare and submit all necessary programming paperwork before designated deadlines.
  • Maintain and organize ASI Student Government files.
  • Chair the ASI Elections Commission.
  • Work in conjunction with the ASI Elections Commission on recruitment, forums, and Election Days.
  • Attend weekly meetings for Student Government Leadership Council (SGLC) as well as staff meetings.
  • Assist supervisor with recruitment of the Student Government Leadership Council (SGLC).
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Student Government Leadership Council (SGLC).
  • Off-site purchasing of materials and supplies needed for the execution of programs.
  • Attend Board of Directors trainings and retreats held in summer and winter, as well as student staff trainings and workshops.
  • Manage and grow ASI Student Government social media accounts (Instagram and other relevant platforms).
  • Create and schedule engaging content to promote services, events, campaigns and audience interactions.
  • Explore and establish a presence on emerging social media platforms.
  • Monitor and respond to follower comments and messages in a timely, professional manner.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the ASI Student Government Assistant.
