ASC Registered Nurse
About The Position
The ASC Registered Nurse (RN) assesses patients’ health problems and needs, develops and implements nursing care plans, and maintains medical records. The RN provides nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients in the ASC clinic setting. The role includes assessing patient concerns in person and by phone, coordinating care with the healthcare team, communicating provider treatment plans and results, preparing rooms and supplies, monitoring patient conditions, providing health education, and administering medications as ordered. Employees are expected to follow ethical standards, applicable laws and regulations, Solaris Health and affiliated practice policies, and HIPAA requirements; report suspected concerns or violations; and complete annual compliance training.
Requirements
- Current RN license and certification as required by the state.
- BLS certification.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- 1–2 years of previous clinical experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to deliver exceptional patient service and build relationships with patients with empathy and compassion.
- Knowledge of healthcare system operations, including EMR.
- Ability to comply with HIPAA patient confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to take responsibility for one’s actions and be forthright about errors or uncertainty.
- Ability to handle stressful and constantly changing conditions.
Nice To Haves
- ACLS certification preferred.
- BSN preferred.
- Urology experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient problems in the office and by phone to determine the appropriate disposition.
- Facilitate patient care and document all communications in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Communicate physician treatment plans, including laboratory and imaging results, to patients and document appropriately in the EMR.
- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
- Prepare rooms and sterilize instruments, equipment, or supplies, and maintain supply stock.
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.
- Instruct individuals, families, or groups on health education and disease prevention, and develop health improvement programs.
- Prepare and administer medications according to written provider orders.
- Perform other position-related duties as assigned.
- Follow ethical standards, applicable laws and regulations, and Solaris Health and affiliated practice policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of patients’ protected health information in compliance with HIPAA.
- Immediately report suspected concerns or violations to a supervisor or the Compliance Department.
- Complete annual compliance training in a timely manner.
