About The Position

University of Iowa Healthcare is looking to hire a 100% Administrative Services Coordinator for the Ambulatory Surgery Center in the Perioperative Department. Position Specific Summary: Provide executive level administrative support. Perform complex administrative and finiancial work involving recurring contact with deans, directors, department heads, public and private officials. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Serve as primary contact to faculity, staff, students, alumni, and public concerning inquiries or complaints requiring interpretation of policies, procedures, and programs. Facilitate and evaluate requests and exercise discretion and judgment in providing confidential information to appropriate parties. Manage complex schedules for high-level administrators requiring judgment in determining meeting needs, discretion of calendar activities, and prioritization of appointments. Coordinate meetings and conferences including gathering and synthesizing data, preparing an agenda, and assuring that program details and financial transactions are accurate. Compose original correspondence requiring discretion and judgment. Monitor account expenditures, identify irregularities, and recommend corrective action. Participate in budget preparation including calculation of projected costs and expenses. Provide developmental and administrative assistance and expertise for the human resource function, staffing and payroll and other ASC programs as needed. Review, revise, and develop office policies and procedures. Develop and revise departmental informational materials for distribution. Collect, tabulate, and analyze data to prepare periodic and special reports. Train, schedule, assign and evaluate work of support staff. Responsible for workflow-related functions (i.e., human resources, financial electronic transaction routing.) Serve as a member of internal and external committees, as directed. Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Some (6 months - 1 year) administrative and financial experience is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must be proficient in computer software applications.
