About The Position

Step into a leadership role where precision matters and your decisions shape flight‑critical components. TekPro is partnering with a well-established aerospace machining facility in Wheeling, IL to hire a hands-on Quality leader who can steward the plant’s quality management system and elevate performance across inspection, testing, and compliance. A day in the role Start with a review of overnight inspection results and in-process checks, aligning priorities with production and engineering. Lead an internal audit, verify adherence to aerospace quality standards, and prepare for upcoming customer and regulatory visits. Facilitate a root cause analysis on a nonconformance, driving corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to closure. Walk the floor to coach inspectors and quality team members, reinforcing a culture of quality and continuous improvement. Close the day aligning stakeholders on action items, metrics, and improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of quality leadership experience in manufacturing.
  • Deep knowledge of quality systems, auditing, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven success collaborating cross-functionally with engineering and production teams.

  • Experience in aerospace machining or other highly regulated manufacturing environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the plant’s quality management system for aerospace machined components.
  • Oversee inspection, testing, and quality assurance processes throughout production.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement effective CAPA.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Plan and lead internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory audits.
  • Partner closely with engineering, production, and leadership to drive continuous improvement.
  • Mentor, develop, and lead the quality team; champion a strong quality culture across operations.
