About The Position

A day in the life in Wheeling, IL 60090 You start the morning by scanning dashboards for yield, scrap, and on-time quality metrics, then head out to the machining cells to observe processes first‑hand. Your calendar includes a layered process audit, an internal AS9100 review, and a stand‑up with engineering and production to align on corrective actions. Midday, you lead a root‑cause session using 5‑Whys and fishbone analysis, and in the afternoon you mentor inspectors on updated procedures before compiling a concise quality report for leadership that highlights trends and opportunities to improve efficiency and product conformity. What you’ll own Build, implement, and sustain a robust Quality Management System that satisfies aerospace requirements, including AS9100 and ISO 9001. Plan and execute internal audits and shop-floor inspections to verify adherence to regulations and company procedures. Drive structured root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action to resolve quality issues at their source. Partner closely with engineering and production to elevate product quality and throughput without compromising standards. Coach, train, and mentor team members on quality assurance methods, documentation, and best practices. Prepare and deliver clear quality performance reports for management, spotlighting key metrics and prioritized improvements. Continuously monitor industry shifts and regulatory updates to keep systems compliant and effective. What you bring Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline. 5+ years of quality management experience in aerospace machining environments. Deep familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 9001 requirements. Hands‑on use of quality methodologies and tools such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing. Exceptional analytical thinking and problem‑solving capability. Clear, confident communication and the ability to collaborate across functions.
