About The Position

Employee will work from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday during June and July in the Campus Center. Employee will assist the Arts & Camp Head Instructor to supervise arts & crafts camp participants. Employee will be able supervise participants in grades 1-8. Work is frequently performed in undesirable physical conditions of pollution, heat, cold, dampness, and a moderate to high noise level; Responsible for assisting the head instructor in: planning, leading, and teaching arts & crafts for children in a small group setting; general safety, development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants in the group. The Arts & Crafts Camp Assistant will provide high quality arts and crafts experiences for participants. Supervise and monitor youth in grades 1-8. Camps are in June and July and are Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm each day.

Requirements

• Ability to work with necessary equipment to complete the tasks successfully.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to effectively present Parks & Recreation information to the public.

Nice To Haves

• Graduation from High School or GED Certificate preferred.
• High School Students may be acceptable in some circumstances.
• Experience with Park & Recreation seasonal activities, preferred.
