The Arts & Crafts Specialist designs and delivers engaging, age-appropriate art programming for all campers. This role develops a variety of project options for each camper unit, aligning with program goals and current camper interests. The Specialist teaches campers different artistic techniques, helping them create projects they can be proud of. In addition to leading art activities, the Arts & Crafts Specialist participates in camp life by staying with camper units, assisting Unit Counselors, and supporting the overall camper experience when not instructing or preparing lessons.

  • Develop curriculum and facilitate arts and crafts programming suitable for the age, ability, and interests of youth 6-17 years old
  • Maintain the integrity of the arts and crafts equipment and supplies, including clear inventory and planning for replacement of supplies in a timely manner within assigned budget
  • Ensure campers and staff understand and follow safety and educational procedures in craft area
  • Support and participate in the implementation of all camp activities such as meals, all camp games, campfires, etc.
  • Carry out established duties for general camp operations including check-in and check-out, bus supervision, camp cleaning, season opening and closing tasks, and completion of necessary paperwork
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with youth 6-17 years old
  • Proficiency in a variety of art mediums and techniques
  • Experience leading youth in programmatic activities
  • Experience with Girl Scout program
  • Experience in day or overnight camp setting
  • Current certification of CPR and First Aid or willingness to obtain
  • Current certification of Youth Mental Health First Aid or willingness to obtain
  • Satisfactory results from a criminal background check
