Requirements

  • Proven experience in Bakery Operations management.
  • Experience managing teams of at least bakers.
  • Experience training new bakers to achieve proficiency.
  • Proficiency on computer systems.
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver recommendations.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize.
  • Proven ability to develop teams, including delegating tasks.
  • Basic financial acumen and knowledge of financial terms like Sales/GP% and their application to department goals.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts.
  • Successful completion of Central Market University.
  • Successful completion of Central Market University Upon Hire.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Bakery department.
  • Supervises a team of Partners.
  • Conducts interviews, performance reviews, and provides Partner feedback.
  • Trains and develops Partners.
  • Writes department schedules.
  • Provides superior customer service and leads a team to provide excellent customer service.
  • Sells products for promotional and special events.
  • Merchandises the department to maximize sales, ensuring appropriate presentation through signage, art display, and promotion of services and products.
  • Ensures product delivered to customers is of optimum quality and presentation, and maintains in-stock conditions.
  • Maintains multiple vendor relationships.
  • Works with other department managers to achieve results.
  • Maintains a high degree of product knowledge.
  • Ensures all government and company regulations for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation are met.
  • Works to achieve set department budget goals.
  • Monitors and manages product assortment, shrink, labor, and wrap expenses to meet budget goals.
  • Conducts weekly forecasting and production planning for product assortment.
  • Oversees product ordering and inventory controls.
  • Generates new sales and maintains current client relationships.
