About The Position

Citi is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Security Specialist to join its Chief Information Security Office (CISO) teams. This role is at the forefront of AI and cybersecurity, addressing novel challenges in securing AI models and their applications within a global financial institution. The position involves developing defensive capabilities against AI-driven threats, building sustainable pipelines for AI-generated vulnerability management, defining security architectures for AI deployment, and securing AI agents that could exhibit insider threat behaviors. This is a hands-on security engineering role focused on understanding code, architecture, and threats to build impactful solutions.

Requirements

Hands-on LLM API experience (context management, tool use, evaluation, failure modes).
Agentic systems design.
AI safety at the infrastructure level.
Vulnerability research, exploit development, or pen testing with real depth.
Detection engineering for novel attack patterns.
Threat modeling (STRIDE, ATT&CK).
Security architecture.
Experience building and operating production systems.
Strong Python and/or systems programming.
Ability to digest dense technical research and turn it into actionable security recommendations.
Genuine curiosity.
Comfortable with ambiguity.
Biased toward building.
Able to work across disciplines.

Nice To Haves

Published research, conference talks, or open-source contributions.
Comfortable reading disassembly or tracing through kernel code.
Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop defensive capabilities to counter AI-driven threats and vulnerabilities.
Build and maintain pipelines for AI-assisted vulnerability triage, verification, and remediation.
Define and implement security architectures for the deployment, monitoring, and governance of agentic AI in a global bank.
Design containment architectures and runtime controls for securing AI agents that may behave like insider threats.
Engage in real security engineering, understanding code, architecture, and threats to find and implement solutions.
Contribute to AI-assisted penetration testing and automated exploit validation.
Define how the bank deploys AI safely, including security architecture and assurance for new implementations.
Build next-generation AI-powered tools for CISO colleagues.
Test new models at the cutting edge of creation and influence.
Own AI products CISO depends on in production, ensuring security assurance, cyber security operations, governance, and controls.
Keep AI security products reliable and evolve them rapidly.
Develop detection, triage, and response strategies for a world where adversaries use AI to exploit vulnerabilities faster than traditional methods.
Implement behavioral analytics for AI agents.
Develop playbooks for AI-originated attack scenarios.
