About The Position

This role focuses on designing, developing, testing, and deploying AI-powered applications, models, and workflows. The primary technical work involves creating machine learning models, generative AI solutions, and intelligent automation capabilities using Python and Azure services. This includes building and integrating solutions with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, and Azure Machine Learning. The role also involves creating and maintaining Python-based applications, APIs, scripts, and data processing pipelines, as well as supporting prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic AI, and Copilot-based solution development. Documentation of experiments, models, technical decisions, and deployment steps is also a key responsibility. On the business collaboration side, the role requires translating business problems into AI use cases and technical designs, engaging with business teams to validate requirements, and participating in workshops and reviews. Presenting progress and results, and contributing to reusable AI development materials are also expected.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field
• Graduation within the past two years or expected graduation prior to start date
• Experience using Python for data, AI, automation, or software development through coursework, internships, research, personal projects, or professional experience
• Understanding of core machine learning concepts such as supervised learning, model training, evaluation, and deployment considerations
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs
• Familiarity with cloud services, APIs, software development practices, or willingness to learn quickly
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and ability to work through ambiguous technical problems
• Ability to work onsite in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Azure Machine Learning, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, or Power Platform AI features
• Experience building end-to-end AI, machine learning, automation, or data-driven prototypes
• Familiarity with SQL, Git, REST APIs, and general software development practices
• Exposure to Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Microsoft Fabric, Dataverse, or Power Platform
• Knowledge of large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, vector databases, or retrieval-augmented generation
• Experience building full-stack applications or integrating cloud services
• Interest in applying AI within industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or B2B contexts

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-powered applications, models, and workflows using Python and Azure services
• Develop machine learning models, generative AI solutions, and intelligent automation capabilities
• Build and integrate solutions using Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, Azure Machine Learning, and related Microsoft AI platforms
• Create and maintain Python-based applications, APIs, scripts, and data processing pipelines
• Support prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic AI, and Copilot-based solution development
• Document experiments, models, technical decisions, deployment steps, and support requirements
• Translate business problems into defined AI use cases, requirements, and technical solution designs
• Engage with P&AI business teams to validate requirements, expected outcomes, and adoption needs
• Participate in workshops, demonstrations, stakeholder reviews, and solution testing sessions
• Present progress and results through clear briefings, demos, technical summaries, and business impact updates
• Contribute to reusable templates, standards, and knowledge-sharing materials for AI development across the division
