About The Position

The Articulated Haul Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating an articulated haul truck and other equipment to move dirt, rocks, equipment, and materials around a construction site. Equipment inspections, loading and unloading, and other responsibilities are part of the job, as well. Must follow all AIS Infrastructure safety requirements and procedures and safety requirements and procedures outlined by all regulatory agencies and policies.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Excellent driving skills and ability to safely maneuver large vehicles in various off-road, construction site, traffic, and road conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely and efficiently operate off-road articulated haul truck and handle heavy construction equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and traffic laws.
  • Ability to read and understand maps, GPS systems, and transportation routes.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily truck equipment inspections and all required safety equipment including, but not limited to tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water, etc. before each shift to ensure equipment is safe for usage.
  • Completes written daily inspection report as required.
  • Submits request for maintenance for any repair items.
  • Maintains truck logs or time recordings as required by state, federal, and company policies and regulations.
  • Drive and maneuver equipment loaded and unloaded and be able to maneuver truck for safe dumping.
  • Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Be able to quickly and repeatedly adjust controls of machine to exact positions as necessary.
  • Learn, follow, and promote all safety regulations AIS Infrastructure and its customers.
  • Communicate clearly, listen, and understand information through spoken words and sentences to ensure full comprehension of job duties, safety regulations, and other situations that may require an immediate response.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management.
