We offer a variety of programs including inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, residential treatment for court-involved teenage girls, geriatric services, clinical day treatment schools and chemical dependency services. Job Summary Experienced Art Therapist provides inpatient functional assessments to patients across the lifespan and facilitates individual and group clinical programming utilizing an art therapy framework in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team. Direct patient care: Conducts a functional assessment in relation to the patient’s reason for admission to support making recommendations of group topics, general safety, milieu engagement, and transition planning. Plans, organizes and implements individual and group treatment activities using a variety of best practice art therapy techniques and interventions in alignments with the multidisciplinary treatment team plan. Provides enhanced individual support (1 on 1) to patients identified by the clinical team under the guidance of the department supervisor. Maintains timely patient-centered documentation that reflects the patient and client systems’ pertinent information for assessment, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory licensing requirements and third-party agencies. Complete clinical and art therapy-related programming under the supervision of the department supervisor Clinical Excellence: Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to determine the appropriate creative therapy services for individual patients (art, music, group, etc.) Engages with licensed art therapist and department supervisor for ongoing development of clinical skills and guidance in approaching treatment methodology with intention of achieving full independent clinical licensure.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Art Therapy, or Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with Art Therapy concentration (or other related field)
  • Valid Provisional certification as an art therapist (ATR-P)
  • LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A, CADC
  • Computer proficient
  • Ability to assess problems, determine solutions and make decisions within a timely manner
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish relationships within and outside their entity
  • Focused on personal, patient/client and unit/staff safety
  • Develops and maintains cultural competence with an understanding of the history, traditions, values, and family systems of client groups as relates to health care and decision-making. Displays sensitivity to and awareness of the diversity in cultural groups and integrates this knowledge into their practice.
