About The Position

Faculty at Muskegon Catholic Central are encouraged to exercise strong teacher agency, designing engaging learning experiences that inspire curiosity, encourage experimentation, and help students discover their God-given gifts and creative potential. The Secondary Art Teacher will lead students through meaningful experiences in visual art, studio practice, and creative expression. The ideal candidate will foster a classroom where students are encouraged to create, explore, take creative risks, solve problems, and develop their own artistic voice. Courses may include areas such as drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, design, photography, digital art, art history, and advanced studio art. We are particularly interested in an educator who can build a strong studio art program that balances foundational skills and techniques with individual expression and creative exploration.

Requirements

• A valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate Art certification preferred.
• A strong background in studio art and visual arts education.
• Experience teaching a variety of artistic media and techniques.
• The ability to develop foundational skills while encouraging individual creativity and artistic expression.
• A passion for helping students grow as artists, thinkers, and creators.
