About The Position

The Galileo School for Gifted Learning is a public charter school in Seminole County. Our mission is to offer innovative, research-based education in a nurturing environment for gifted and talented students and those who want to learn in a gifted learning environment that will challenge them to pursue their passionate interests in service to others. The Galileo School is inviting application for the following position: Certified Art Teacher: The Teacher will help to encourage and promote an appreciation for art and the history of art. The Teacher will promote a positive learning environment, use standards and data to drive classroom instruction, and facilitate student development in the area of art, interior design, and home economics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in the area of Art or a bachelor’s degree with thirty (30) semester hours in art to include credit in the areas of Two-dimensional art, Three-dimensional art, and Art History.
• All teachers without their gifted endorsement or certification will be required to obtain it before the end of their second year of employment at Galileo School.

• Strong subject matter content knowledge in reading, mathematics, science, or history
• Experience teaching twice exceptional students
• ESOL endorsement or certification
• K-12 ESE certification
• Reading endorsement
