About The Position

Classical Charter Schools is seeking passionate Art Teachers to advance its classical mission and help all students gain knowledge of art. Art Teachers will provide instruction in a way that maximizes learning and maintain a highly structured and engaged classroom culture. Under the supervision of the School Leader, Art Teachers will study, practice, and execute lessons using a rigorous, highly vetted curriculum for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, maintaining a pace that ensures comprehension. They will organize materials thoughtfully, develop classroom routines for efficient material management, and be proactive in health and safety matters. Additionally, Art Teachers will manage student behavior to promote learning, maintain accurate records, and work collaboratively with staff, engaging in professional development. The role requires a deep care for scholars and a commitment to inspiring them to do good and work well.

Requirements

Experience working with children
Experience teaching art to children
Undergraduate degree by June 2026

Responsibilities

Provide instruction in a way that maximizes learning
Maintain a highly structured and engaged classroom culture where scholars demonstrate respect, responsibility, caring, trustworthiness, fairness, and citizenship
Study, practice, and execute lessons that lead scholars to mastery of content, using our rigorous, highly vetted curriculum to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade
Maintain a lesson pace that ensures comprehension and maximizes students' ability to engage
Organize materials thoughtfully, developing classroom routines to manage materials efficiently with minimal lost learning time
Be proactive in matters relating to health and safety
Manage student behavior in a way that promotes learning and prioritizes prevention and de-escalation
Maintain accurate records of student information and assessment data
Work collaboratively and professionally with other staff and actively engage in professional development sessions
Undertake other duties as required
