About The Position

Art Teacher Turn creativity into connection—and make a difference while you do it! Do you believe art can inspire confidence, encourage self-expression, and help young people discover what they’re capable of? Bring your creativity to the classroom and make an impact every day! We’re looking for a passionate, energetic Art Teacher to join our team on a part-time schedule of approximately 24 hours per week (3 days/week). In this role, you’ll work with adolescents and young adults ages 8–21, creating engaging art experiences that encourage creativity, personal growth, communication, and self-expression. This is more than teaching art—it’s about helping young people find their voice, discover their talents, and have fun along the way.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Art, or a related field preferred.
Experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults, particularly individuals with special needs, is highly valued.
A passion for art and the ability to turn creative ideas into engaging learning experiences.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to travel as needed.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Special Education certification or experience.

Responsibilities

Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate art lessons and creative activities tailored to the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
Create a positive, welcoming classroom environment where students feel comfortable exploring, experimenting, and expressing themselves.
Adapt art projects and instruction to support a wide range of abilities and learning styles.
Incorporate activities that encourage fine motor skills, cognitive development, social-emotional growth, communication, independence, and self-confidence.
Connect lessons and activities to each student’s individualized educational and developmental goals.
Encourage students to take pride in their work while celebrating their unique creativity and accomplishments.
Build positive relationships with students and model patience, encouragement, and respectful communication.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to support each student’s overall success.
Track and document student participation, progress, and accomplishments accurately and on time.
Communicate regularly with families and team members regarding student progress and areas of success.
Participate in IEPs, team meetings, professional development, and other activities that support student growth.
Maintain a safe, organized, and inspiring learning environment.
Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
