About The Position

Togetherhood is expanding to the DC area and is seeking enthusiastic instructors to join their network. Togetherhood is a marketplace connecting educators with schools and communities seeking enrichment programs. They aim to provide high-quality enrichment and education, supporting instructors in sharing their skills and passion with children. The role offers flexible, well-paying supplemental work with the freedom to use personal lesson plans and curriculum.

Requirements

Experience teaching school-age children
Excitement, joy, and passion for both teaching kids and personal development/learning
Ability to create a fun, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Brings your own voice and creativity to each class you teach
Cooperative, supportive, flexible
Dependable, proactive, and thrives when given autonomy
Appreciates support and clear expectations
Provide a resume showcasing relevant teaching experience
If lacking formal teaching experience, share any other relevant experience or training in a cover letter or on the application questionnaire

Responsibilities

Conceive of and create an age-appropriate curriculum for your class
Create memorable experiences for the children in your class to help them grow and develop a passion for art
Consistently arrive at your class on time (or early!), prepared with the lesson plan for the day
Help children understand why art is so wonderful and how it's helped shape you as a person
