About The Position

A CYE faculty member for the arts serves as a teacher and/or counselor in one of our youth education and engagement programs. Your responsibilities include (1) planning, alongside your assigned teenage assistants, compelling, differentiated learning or engagement experiences that deepen students’ understanding and appreciation of Jewish identity through art (2) creating a nurturing and supportive environment for students, (3) supervising your classroom or camp experience to ensure compliance with Wise regulations and values, and (4) proactively communicating with fellow staff and parents. As a key staff member in our religious educational institution, you will serve as a role model of our faith’s tenets, demonstrating them daily to our members and the broader Temple community. This position plays a vital role in transmitting the expectations and values of our faith, ensuring that the Temple continues to minister effectively to the needs of our students and members. As a CYE Art Faculty Member, you may be entrusted with highly confidential and sensitive information. Given the critical nature of this role, it is imperative that you uphold the highest standards of confidentiality, sound judgment, and personal integrity at all times. Safeguarding this information is essential not only to ensure Wise’s legal and operational compliance, but also to preserve the trust placed in us by our members, staff, and community partners.

  • Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, or bend.
  • May need to lift and carry items up to [10–25 lbs], such as files or teaching supplies.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and clients, in person and via phone or video.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and supervises camp and classroom art activities for students.
  • Coordinates with madrichim and faculty to ensure seamless experience.
  • Regularly assesses student community and reports behavioral issues and friendships to Assistant CYE Director.
  • Models Jewish values and principles for children, while ensuring physical, spiritual, and emotional safety of students.
  • Planning, alongside your assigned teenage assistants, compelling, differentiated learning or engagement experiences that deepen students’ understanding and appreciation of Jewish identity through art.
